Ghost Chess

Ghost Chess is a small solo chess-like game with a twist: the pieces aren't yours until you recruit them.

You play as white. Purple ghosts sit on the board in mirrored pairs — knights, bishops, rooks, and queens waiting to be claimed. Move your king onto a ghost to recruit it. It becomes your piece, copying the ghost's shape.

But every piece you move goes on a cooldown, the blue ring around it shows when it's ready to act again. While cooling, it can be captured.

Meanwhile, the black king is moving on its own, on a timer. It's gathering ghosts too. Corner it, trap it, and capture it.

Every game is randomized.
